A. A logging recorder is a multi-channel recording system used to record conversations and transmissions from a communications system over an extended period of time. In addition to the audio, a logging recorder also records time and date to assist later recovery and playback.
Q. Will the ATIS System work with my current telephone system?
A. The ATIS system is compatible with all major digital and analog telephone systems. Check with your sales representative to verify that your system is compatible.
Q. How does the ATIS System maintain system security?
A. The ATIS System allows you to configure specific users with specific rights and enables password protection of critical monitoring and recording functions.
Q. How many workstations can access stored data simultaneously?
A. With ATIS’ networking software, a maximum amount of 16 workstations can access the data simultaneously. Please note that network system performance depends on your network capabilities. Workstations should be Pentium based IBM compatible computers with the Windows Operating System.
Q. Can I e-mail recorded voice messages to interested parties?
A. Yes, the ATIS System has the ability to export user defined recordings in a .wav format, giving you the ability to attach any recording to an e-mail message.
Q. Does the ATIS System incorporate “point and click” capabilities or will I have to learn function keys to initiate processes?
A. The ATIS Application has a Graphical User Interface (GUI), the popular method of point and click operation and setup using the Windows standard look and feel.
Q. How easily can I access recorded conversations?
A. The ATIS Application incorporates a “Filter” or “Search” engine that will allow you to easily search through the database with just a few clicks of the mouse. Users can modify a search by date, time, channel, incoming number, outgoing number, etc. Simplicity of the user interface makes accessing the data a breeze!
Q. Does the ATIS System record two-way radio?
A. Yes, the system will record two and four wire audio with a combiner.
Q. What type of Warranty is offered on the ATIS system?
A. Standard 1 year warranty on parts and labor.
Q. Do I need an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)?
A. No, however, ATIS strongly recommends that the recorder is connected to a UPS device at all times, even in conditions where a back up generator is used.
Q. What happens to the data if power is lost?
A. In the event of a power loss the system has an automatic Data Recovery Routine that will reconstruct the data on the Instant Recall Buffer and the Archive Media. When the recovery procedure is complete, the system will revert to the previous mode of operation (i.e., recording).
Q. What is the hard drive storage capacity in recording hours?
A. The standard recorder includes a 80Gb HDD which is capable of storing over 10,000 hours.
Q. What are your compression ratio options, and are they user-selectable?
A. The compression rate is selectable on a per channel basis. 1:1 = 64Kbps ADPCM. 2:1 = 32Kbps ADPCM. 4:1 = 16Kbps ADPCM.
Q. How many channels is the system capable of recording?
A. ATIS’ recorders are capable of recording in 8 channel increments up to 128 channels in a single system.
Q. What method of archival drives does the ATIS System incorporate?
A. Digital Tape Drives: DAT DDS-2, DDS-3 4mm Tape. Optical Disk Drives: DVD drive 9.4 GB total, MOD drive 5.2 GB (Magneto Optical Disk)
Q. How many archive drives are available and what are their recording options?
A. Each system offers as a standard, dual 4.7Gb DVD-RAM drives. Single archive drive systems are available at customer requests. Dual drive systems can be configured to record in sequential mode or parallel. In sequential mode one drive will record while the other is in standby. With dual drive systems, either drive can be designated as a primary drive. In parallel mode both drives record identical copies for redundancy. The drives may also be configured to operate in a play/record manner, one drive record, one drive play, etc.
Q. What is the capacity of archive media in hours?
A. 4.7Gb DVD-RAM discs are capable of storing over 600+ hours of calls. Dual sided 9.4Gb DVD-RAM discs are capable of storing over 1250+ hours of calls.
Q. Does the system include a cassette re-record jack? Headphone jack?
A. As a standard feature, the system has a re-record and headphone jack built into the front panel of the recorder.
Q. Is the system capable of adjusting to daylight savings time?

A. Yes, the system provides a loop-mode for playback allowing operators to continuously replay the same portion of the recording. Also operators can export a predefined loop as a .wav file. The recorder also has the ability to emulate a reel-to-reel recorder with multi-channel play. This is an advanced feature of the ATIS recording system offered as a standard. With multi-channel play, operators may select up to 8 channels for real-time playback or as the recording took place.
Q. Does the system have the ability to append notes to tagged calls?
A. Yes, the system has the ability to append notes to calls which can be used for comments up to 255 characters in length. The option is referred to as Target Tag.
Q. Does the system have audible and visual alert features?
A. Yes, depending on the event, the recorder will monitor and log errors, warnings, and system failures to an internal activity log. Also, depending on the event, an audible alarm will sound requiring a user response.
